Event: Paul and Silas in Prison
S - Scripture
Acts 16 v. 29-39 And he called for the lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas, and brought them out and said, "Men what must I do to be saved?"
O – Observation
The short term results of living a Christian life in the world today. You will stand out, you will be different. You're approach to life's issues will cause people to notice. Matthew 5 v. 14, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. " This will provide the opportunity to share. Just as in today's verse, people will ask what makes you so different, what do they need to do to get to that place where you are. This swings open wide the opportunity to share the good news. Matthew 5 v. 16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven."
A - Application
Am I experiencing the opportunity/results of my Christian walk?
P - Prayer
Jesus, Let my light shine, so that I may give you glory. Love Will

Reading in Luke this morning Jesus was talking about lighting a candle to light up the room not hiding it under a jar or the bed and I noticed in that scripture something I had not ever noted before. He says be careful how you hear.. I find it interesting to see the title of your message today to let your light shine. But we also have to be careful how we hear. We need to guard against first impressions assuming something taking it and running with it. We have to seek God's light to show us how to reflect his love to those around us.
