Come

S - SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
O-OBSERVATION:
The words of Jesus; it’s always interesting to me what He doesn’t say. He doesn’t say come all
you righteous, come all you wealthy, come all you self-confident, well rested, do-gooders. Jesus is calling those who have nowhere to turn, no place to hide, no place to seek comfort or peace. He calls those of us whose sins have weighed us down so that we feel the weight of the world upon our shoulders. He says to us personally; “COME, I will give you rest!” How does

Jesus do this, the words of John the Baptist in John 1:29, “Behold the Lamb of God; who takes away the sin of the world!”
A-APPLICATION:
Jesus took everything that could burden us to the Cross of Calvary and paid for it in full with His Holy, Precious Blood! He arose from the grave on Resurrection Sunday; and Paul’s words to the Romans in Romans 6:23 give us the answer: the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord! So COME to Him friends, He wants to hold your hand through this life, and lead you to eternal life. There is no better rest!
P - PRAYER:
Gracious Father, You have conceived the best plan ever for our lives, move us Lord to COME to You and receive what You have offered. In Jesus Name, Amen
