Event: Peter Heals a Lame Beggar
S - Scripture
Acts 3 v.2 And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at
that gate of the temple which is called Beautiful to ask alms of those who entered
the temple.
O - Observation
The poor and disabled. They are the facts of life. Jesus knew it. He said in
Matthew 26 v. 11, "For you will always have the poor with you." It's
interesting that this man's friends brought him to the temple to beg. How
appropriate. How often are we crippled by sin, devastated by its effects? How
do we react? We approach the throne of grace with confidence. We need to go to
Jesus. So as a church body, how do we react when the poor and lame "camp
out" at our door steps? We need to remember 1 Samuel 2 v. 7, "The
Lord makes poor and make rich; he brings low he also exalts." If the Lord
establishes every one's position, and he is a God of relationship, then we must
be intertwined.
A - Application
How am I intertwined with those that are poor or lame? Am I intentional or casual with them?
P - Prayer
Jesus, Give me and my church intentional focus for the poor and lame. Love Will
