Event: Peter Addresses the Crowd
S - Scripture
Acts 2 v. 28 And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of
you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
O - Observation
What shall we do? This verse is Peter's response to the crowd’s question after
they heard his message. It's really the response to the same question we ask
when we hear the message of Jesus Christ. What shall we do? Peter's response is
simple. Detach yourself from your sinful ways and attach yourself to
Christ. Jesus encourages this when he said in Matthew 11 v.29, "Take
my yoke upon you and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you
will find rest for your souls." So how do we yoke, or attach ourselves to
Jesus? Baptism, reading and doing what God tells us to do, praying to him.
