Asked to be filled with the Holy Spirit

Acts 13 v. 52 And the disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.

 

O - Observation

Wow!! What an amazing state of being! This sentence, this verse is thrown in almost as an afterthought to the previous verses and chapters in which there is account after account of persecution of the disciples and believers of Christ. Their secret -being filled with the Holy Spirit. Joy is the #2 attribute of those filled by the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5 v. 22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” Being filled with the Holy Spirit allows you to withstand the trouble you will face. Paul, spirit filled stated in Philippians 4 v. 11b, 13, “For I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. I can do all things in him who strengthens me.” Being filled with the Holy Spirit is recognizing what Jesus did for you personally . It is recognizing how valuable you are to God.
