S - Scripture
Proverbs 9 v.
7-8 He who corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse, he who reproves a
wicked man incurs injury. Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you,
reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
O - Observation
Love is the answer. How do we address those around us? Those that are both foolish and wise in God's eyes? Love. 1 Peter 4 v. 8; "And above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins." 1 Corinthians 13 v. 4, 6 helps to describe love for us, " Love is patient and kind, it does not rejoice at wrong but rejoices in the right." For those that scoff, we need to decide our approach. We need to recognize that God's Word does not come back void. We need to show continual love. We need to pray for them. We need to share our life, our hope, our anchor. We need to provide the facts, the basis of our faith, and then let go and let God work in their hearts.
A - Application
What is my approach? Is it in love or reproof?
P - Prayer
Jesus, Give me
wisdom, give me love in dealing with people. Love
Will.
