Be an encourager!

S - Scripture     

Matthew  7 v. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the Log that is in your own eye?   

O - Observation    

 Jesus does not want us to judge or compare us to others. Earlier in v. 1 he says, "Judge not, lest you be Judged." Why? 1) Its hypocritical. How can we be critical when we have our own issues. 2) Its damaging. God wants us to lift each other up, not tear people down.  1 Thessalonians 5 v.11 "Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up."  God wants us to be all that we can be for him. He wants unity. A critical heart is poison to unity.  Finally, we do know God will judge everybody. Let him handle that. 

A - Application    

Am I spending more time lifting people up, vs. criticizing them?

P  - Prayer    

Jesus,  Help me to be an encourager. Help me to let go the things that other people do that bother me. Love Will.
