S - Scripture
Psalm 111 v. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, a good
understanding have all those who practice it. His praise endures forever!
O - Observation
Practice. Webster defines practice as "doing something again and again to
be good at it." What this psalm is essentially saying is - Wisdom is
earned through the experience of practice. But what are we practicing? What
must we do over and over? 1st. Be in God's word on a daily basis. Carve out
time each day to read a verse or a chapter of the Bible. Hebrews 4 v. 12a,
"For the word of God is living and active." 2nd. We need to pray to
God to give us understanding in what we have just read. Luke 11 v. 9b,
"Seek, and you will find." 3rd. Do it! Apply what you have read to
your life. Practice following the Godly instructions to gain wisdom.
