Be labled as a Christian

Event: The Church in Antioch

S - Scripture
Acts 11 v. 26 And when they had found him (Saul), he (Barnabus) brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church, and taught a large company of people; and in Antioch the disciples were for the first time called Christians.

O - Observation
Where we got our name - Christians. It's interesting to note, that the name (Christians  - followers of Christ) came during a season of teaching and building up of the faith. It's the second half of Jesus great commission to us. Matthew 28 v, 20a, "Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." Diving into God's word, hearing it, learning and applying it in our lives is what transforms us from church going to Christians. Colossians 3 v. 16, "Let the word of God dwell in you richly, teaching and admonish one another in all wisdom , and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in our hearts to God.
