Serve In Love

S - SCRIPTURE : Galatians 5:13 niv You my brothers and sisters were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather serve one another humbly in love.

O - OBSERVATION: I love this verse, it reminds us of a very important truth we embrace as followers of Jesus. We have been called to be free and we learn that through the word, John 8:32 reminds us of exactly that. However being free does not mean we follow every whim of the flesh, but rather as follower’s of Jesus, and by the power of the Spirit we are free to serve in love!

A - APPLICATION: Serving in love does not mean it’s something we force ourselves to do, but rather these are opportunities that God puts in front of us so that we might walk in them, and grow through them. I think of Ephesians 2:10 We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. You see, God has created opportunities for us to serve Him by serving others, according to His divine plan for our lives. In so doing, we grow in faith, knowledge and love of Him, spread His love to others, and bring glory and honor to His Holy Name.

P - PRAYER:Oh Gracious Father, You create opportunities for us to serve so that we might grow in faith, share Your love with others and bring glory and honor to You. May others know we are Christians by our love! In Jesus Name, Amen
