Event: Peter Explains His Actions
Acts 11 v. 16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, "John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit."
O - Observation
The difference. Our baptism is not just a rite, a tradition. No, our baptism is much much more. Peter was retelling the people of Joppa what he had heard Jesus say earlier, right before the ascending into heaven. Acts 1 v. 5, (Jesus said) For John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit." The Holy Spirit is what ties us to Jesus. Romans 6 v. 4, " We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in the newness of life. That is the difference maker in Baptism.
