Blessed Discipline

Blessed Discipline

Guest Blog by Gary Riedel

Scripture:
Psalm 94:12 Blessed is the one You discipline, Lord, the one You teach from Your law.

Observation:
When I was a young boy, I would never have believed that discipline was a blessing.
After messing up, the words; “wait until your dad gets home,” were not filled with joyful expectation. But scripture tells us that even God disciplines; our text today and also Revelations 3:17 “Those I love I rebuke and discipline.” You see, God wants to mold and
shape us through discipline until we are totally His! Until we fulfill the purpose for which He created us!

Eph 2:10 We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God hath before ordained that we might walk in them!

Application:
Discipline is a form of the greatest and toughest love! Left to our own devices, we may not be good citizens of this earth, and would likely never be citizens of heaven! Our appropriate
response to discipline will result in being blessed by the Father!

Prayer:
Dear Father, help us to embrace the great blessings that Your discipline has provided
for us. Because of Your discipline, we have an ear for Your Spirit, and the good news of Jesus has captured our heart! Thank you for Your blessing of discipline,
In Jesus Name, Amen
