Humility

 Humility

Guest blog by Gary Riedel

S - Scripture:
Psalm 25:9 He leads the humble in what is right and teaches the humble His way.

O - Observation:
Who is it that the Lord is able to teach? Is He able to get through to the proud and arrogant?
What happens to us when we get full of ourselves? What is the warning in Deuteronomy 5:10-12? Verse 12 “then take care lest you forget the Lord who brought you out of he land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You see, it is so easy when we get comfortable, when all is going well, to get lax and pat ourselves on the back, and take credit for our success. That is when a loving God humbles us to draw us back to Himself, because He wants to teach us in His way!

A - Application:
Pride comes naturally to the heart of a man, including this man. Often God has humbled me
to teach me His grace, His Mercy, and His way, John14:6. Jesus said: “ I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the father but by Me”. No room for pride here!

P - Prayer:
Holy Father, Help us to humble ourselves as God’s people in this place, it’s so easy to point to the faults of others, but remind us to confess the log in our own eye Matthew 7:5, and to seek our own humility so that we can be led by God. For it is only then that God will heal our land. In Jesus Name, Amen
