Too Dirty

 Too Dirty

Guest Blog by Gary Riedel

S - Scripture:
Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that He might have compassion on him, and to our God; for He will abundantly pardon.

O-Observation:
This is the Old Testament version of 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins He is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. These verses encourage us to forsake our old ways, confess our sins and seek the forgiveness of a Gracious God, for He will abundantly pardon! Did we hear that right, ABUNDANTLY pardon! Everything our God does for us, especially His love, grace, and mercy are abundant! Giving us Jesus was the most abundant gift of all!

A - APPLICATION:
On more than one occasion I’ve heard the excuse that “I’m too much of a sinner to be in church “
I want all who read this to know that; going to church learning about Jesus is not for those who think they are righteous, for their ears are likely closed to the good news. But Jesus is for those who feel like they are “TOO DIRTY.”  In Luke 18:13 The publican smote his breast and said; God
be merciful to me, a sinner! In the next verse of this parable, Jesus said this man went home justified. The point; no one is TOO DIRTY, just confess or repent and let God abundantly pardon!

P - PRAYER:
Gracious Father, help me be a messenger of Your free Grace, help me share with others the good news of salvation by grace through faith. That those I know, Lord, may know they are never TOO DIRTY to be cleansed by the blood of Jesus! Isaiah 1:18. In Jesus Name, Amen
