He Is Risen

He Is Risen
Guest Blog by Gary Riedel

S - SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 28:6a KJV He is not here: for HE IS RISEN, as He said.

O - OBSERVATION:
This began as a response from an angel to the friends of Jesus who came to anoint His body on the 3rd day. Now it is the heartfelt phrase often said by the Pastor on Resurrection Sunday; followed by the joyful response HE IS RISEN INDEED, ALLELUIA!! Why do God’s people respond so joyfully to this short phrase? Because it announces the best news His people have ever heard! Oh yes, from Luke 2:11 Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, is also very great news, but this phrase announced His birth and HE IS RISEN, means mission accomplished! Jesus has won the victory for us over sin, death, and the power of the devil. It means His Redemptive work on earth is finished, and when we confess our sins 1John 1:9 He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. HE IS RISEN means salvation belongs to you and I!!!!!

A - APPLICATION:
“HE IS RISEN” is not to be kept secret; 1Timothy 2:4 God would have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit! A follower of Jesus has work to do, and that is to share the reason for the joy that is in us! 1 Peter 3:15 Always be prepared to give reason for the hope that is within you. The hope that comes
from the phrase; HE IS RISEN!!!

PRAYER: Gracious Father, thank You for making a way for us to receive salvation by the death and Resurrection of Your only Son. May “HE IS RISEN” be our battle cry against the evil one.
In Jesus Name, Amen
