S - Scripture
Psalm 141 v. 5 Let a good man strike or rebuke me in kindness, but let the oil
of the wicked never anoint my head for my prayer is continually against their
wicked deeds.
O - Observation
Compare and contrast. Unpleasantness vs. pleasantness. Temporary vs. Eternal.
Discipline, especially from the Lord is Temporary. Hebrews 12 v.11, "for
the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, later it yields
the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
" Following God's word, God's instruction may very well strike or rebuke
what you're doing today. It may seem painful initially, but it bares peace and
life. Conversely, hanging out with the wicked (those that do not believe in
Jesus) has some dire consequences. 1 Corinthians 15 v. 33, "Do not be
deceived, Bad company ruins good morals."
A - Application
Am I choosing the discipline of God over the pleasure of the wicked?
P - Prayer
Jesus, Help me to stay focused on the eternal things. Love Will
