S - Scripture
Psalm 141 v. 2 Let my prayer be counted as incense for thee; and the lifting up
of my hands as an evening sacrifice.
O - Observation
Prayer. Prayers to God are like incense to God. Incense is a sweet smelling
smell. Praying to God is intentional much like the burning of incense.
God wants us to have a personal relationship with him. After all, we were
created to be relational. The only way to be relational is to spend time with
each other. With God it's via reading his words and praying to him. Prayer
becomes a way of life, and the smell of a strong prayer life is evident. 2
Corinthians 2 v. 14, "But thanks be to God, who in Christ always lead us
in triumph, and thru us proceeds the fragrance of the knowledge of him
everywhere." Your prayer coupled with other believers prayers makes a
difference. God values them as indicated in Jesus revelation to John in
Revelation 5 v. 8b, "and they were holding bowls of incense, which are the
prayers of God's people."
A - Application
Am I burning incense to the Lord?
P - Prayer
Jesus, Let my prayer be counted as incense before thee. Love Will
