S - Scripture
Proverbs 18 v. 13 If one gives answer before he hears it is his folly and shame.
O - Observation
The importance of listening. Listening is more than just hearing, it is comprehending, understanding what the other person has to say. Those that jump to conclusions usually jump when they shouldn't. I see that at work a lot in the clinical setting. I call it the Jumpsies. I hate the jumpsies. So it must be with us in today's world. We need to be slow to jump at the things that the world offers. We need to investigate it and see what it really has to say. We need to compare it with the truth. What is the Truth? John 14 v. 6a, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the TRUTH and the life."
A - Application
So are we listening or hearing God's word? Do we have a bad case of the Jumpsies?
P - Prayer
Jesus, Develop me into a great listener. Help me not to have the Jumpsies. Love Will.
