A Living God

S - SCRIPTURE:
Acts 14:15b You should turn from these vain things to “A Living God”, Who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.
O - OBSERVATION: After Paul by the power granted to him by the Holy Spirit, healed the man born lame, the Greeks wanted to bring Paul and Barnabas offerings, thinking they were a real impersonation of their Greek gods. That’s what prompted this response from Paul. After Jesus asks Peter who Peter thinks He, Jesus, is, in Matthew 16:16 Peter says, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the LIVING GOD”. You see, there is only one LIVING GOD! He is as alive today as when He created the vastness of the universe. He alone is to be worshipped, He alone authored the profound truths of scripture, He alone is to receive our praise and glory! He sent His only Son to die and be raised again that we His children, might receive an inheritance of eternal live! John 3:16
A - APPLICATION: So all the things I think are so important, pale compared to the Gracious God Who gave me; a wife, children, grandchildren, fields, gainful employment, talents, but most
importantly, faith to trust Him alone for my future here and in Eternity!
P - PRAYER: Gracious Father, always give us a full measure of Your Spirit, so that we are faithful only to “A LIVING GOD! In Jesus Name, Amen
