S - Scripture 

Matthew 24:44 Therefore you also must be ready for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

O - OBSERVATION: 

This points to the second coming of Jesus, the time when Jesus comes again and all mankind is judged by God for their lives. In Matthew 24: 48-51, scripture makes it clear that it will not be well for those who tarry in their repentance and keep putting it off, thinking there will be plenty of time for that later. In addition to the second coming of Jesus, none of us knows at what day and what hour God will call us home from this earthly life. In Psalm 139:16 God tells us He alone knows the length of our days. “All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.”

A - APPLICATION: 

All of the above means we must be ready for the end of our life on this earth however it comes to be. We cannot be made righteous by our own doing; Isaiah 64:6 (kjv) All our righteousness is as filthy rags. So the solution is only found in Jesus; 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins He(Jesus) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we are cleansed from unrighteousness that means that we are made righteous. By our own doing? NO! Only the blood of Jesus can make us clean! Again I quote the old Gospel hymn; “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus”. What can wash away my sin, nothing but the blood of Jesus!

P - PRAYER: 

Oh Gracious Father, You have made a way that all mankind and even I, might be made righteous by repentance and trusting in what Jesus has done for us so that we might inherit eternal life with You! Lord please grant that to all who read this, that we may all be reunited in Your Eternity. In Jesus Name, Amen
